Akazawa Style is located on the second floor of Oufuuryou (formerly the Suisha), a historic building constructed in 1907 (Meiji 40) and registered as a Modern Heritage Site of Matsumoto City. Inside this culturally rich building, you’ll find an array of valuable antiques, including Japanese paintings and furniture carefully curated by the landlord, giving the space the feel of a small art museum. Our salon is located at the top of a charming wooden staircase, to the right. It occupies a spacious 15-tatami pure Japanese-style room—the only one in the building that features traditional elements such as a transom (ranma), alcove (tokonoma), and side-alcove (tokowaki). We’ve designed our unique “inbound” cultural program to make the most of this serene Japanese-style space. Whether it’s sunny or rainy, visitors from abroad can enjoy a special experience that blends the history of Matsumoto in the Shinshu region with authentic Japanese culture. We aim for every guest to leave saying: “I’m so glad I came to the heart of Japan, Matsumoto!” “I’d love to come back again!” ⸻ 【Personal Color Diagnosis – 4-Season Analysis】 To ensure accurate color evaluation, this service is conducted in natural daylight from a north-facing window—just like in gemstone appraisal. Using both gradation drapes and metallic gold/silver drapes, we analyze your personal color season: Spring / Summer / Autumn / Winter. ⸻ 【Yukata Photo Session】 After identifying your best-matching colors through the personal color diagnosis, you’ll dress in a yukata (summer kimono) in one of your ideal shades.
